MEREDITH A. WILSON is an associate at ROSE, CHINITZ & ROSE. Meredith's practice focuses on civil litigation, with an emphasis on employment and business litigation. Meredith has represented clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts in complex commercial litigation, securities class actions, intellectual property litigation, and white-collar criminal cases. Meredith also has experience in employment discrimination, tort, contract and eminent domain cases.

Meredith is a graduate of Georgetown University (B.A. 1997) and University of Connecticut Law School (J.D. 2001), where she was a member of the University of Connecticut Law Review. Meredith is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to joining ROSE, CHINITZ & ROSE in July 2006, Meredith worked as an Assistant Attorney General in the Trial Division of the Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General and as an associate in the Litigation Section at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP in Boston.

A representative sample of Meredith's previous successes includes:

  • obtaining a defense verdict for the Commonwealth in a whistleblower action against the Massachusetts Highway Department alleging the department took retaliatory action against an employee.
  • obtaining a defense verdict for the Commonwealth in a negligence action against the Massachusetts State Police.
  • successfully defending the Commonwealth in a mandamus action and an application for injunctive relief sought by subcontractors on public works contracts.
  • successfully representing Salem State College and its employees in defending a summary judgment decision in their favor on claims of negligence, civil rights violations and invasion of privacy. Nelson v. Salem State College, et al., 446 Mass. 525 (2006).
  • obtaining the dismissal of a complaint against the Commonwealth including claims of negligence and civil rights violations.
  • obtaining summary judgment for Roxbury Community College in a negligence suit.
  • assisted in obtaining the dismissal of a securities class action suit against a publicly traded company based in New England. Zouras v. Hallman, 2004 WL 2191034 (D.N.H. Sept. 30, 2004).
